This app, created during the WorldCat Mashathon 2009 in Seattle, uses the mainstream appeal and popularity of Amazon list feeds (bestsellers, new releases) and mashes them with ISBN numbers in WorldCat, so that the user will go to the library’s copy of the item. In this case, the pipe was specific for WSU’s WorldCat Local implementation. |

This actionbox/standalone citation feature, built with the WorldCat Search API, is really popular with UCOL first-year students who are new to citing sources. It retrieves a formatted citation for a book or journal in APA, Chicago, Harvard, MLA or Turabian formats. The script is flexible to also use xISSN or xISBN if the OCLC number is unavailable.
