Known Issues for ILLiad 7.3

This page lists ongoing ILLiad-related problems and their evaluation/resolution by the OCLC Customer Support Department (CSD). Problems for which resolutions have been developed remain on this list for 30 days; they are then transferred to the Archive list (linked below) for 90 days, then deleted.

Borrowing

  1. "Borrowing Notes" field cannot be edited via the OCLC interface when transactions are in Special Message status
  2. No "blocked" status line message for blocked users that submit a request via OpenURL
  3. The OdysseyEmailSubject and DocDelEMailSubject keys are ignored, and ElectronicDeliveryEMailSubject is used for Doc Del and Odyssey email subject lines
  4. Buttons on the dialog box for saving a request without an ILL number are reversed
  5. Sort by date working incorrectly for NotWantedAfter

    Status: This is a known issue.

    Workaround: None. The user is still blocked correctly, but the Status Line message does not show.

4. Buttons on the dialog box for saving a request without an ILL number are reversed

    Added: 20080721

    Status: This is a known issue. When you choose the Request Sent response for a request in the Awaiting Request Processing status, the dialog box shown below is displayed. The button functions are reversed.

    Workaround: To save the request without an ILL number, select: No
    Workaround: To return to the request (without saving) for further processing, select: Yes.

5. The Special Instructions field becomes blank when an item is checked in

    Status: This is a known issue. When an item is checked in, the check-in function does not read the contents of Special Instructions field into the database, causing the field to become blank. When the transaction is saved, the blank field is written to the database so any special instructions are lost.

    Workaround: Re-enter any special instructions on the Check Item In screen, then save the transaction.

6) Sort by date working incorrectly for NotWantedAfter

    Status: This is a known issue. The sort function is sorting on the month value (MM/DD/YYYY) only.

    Example: Sorting on the NotWantedAfter column for newest first, this raw list:

Lending

1) BorrowerStatus import fails on some older ILLiad installations

    Added: 20080721

    Status: This is a known issue. Older ILLiad sites may be missing an NVTGC column in the BorowerStatus table. The system will not be able to see the table and nothing will be routed via borrower status if this column is missing.

    Workaround: Add the NVTGC column to the BorrowerStatus table at the SQL Server table level.

2) LendingReasonsForCancellation and LendingReasonsForCond table data not visible in Customization Manager

    Added: 20080721

    Status: This is a known issue. These tables appear empty when accessed in Customization Manager.

    Workaround: The tables appear empty because they have blank values in the NVTGC column. You must populate the column via SQL command (not in Customization Manager). Data will then display.

3. Most Unfilled Journals report bug

    Added: 20080819

    Status: This is a known issue. The query used to pull this report functions incorrectly; it counts the same items more than once and gives an incorrect total.

    Workaround: None.

4. Staff password reset function with e-mail notification does not work.

    Added: 20080821

    Status: This is a known issue. Although the Forgot Password? link on the ILLiad login page appears to function correctly, when a user selects the Reset Password button no reset is performed and no e-mail is sent.

    Workaround:

    1. Contact the lending library directly and ask for a manual password reset. Your password will be reset to ILL .
    2. Optional. Log in to ILLiad using ILL (or ill — not case sensitive) and change the password.

1) Webreports: Exporting results sometimes results in error messages: wildcard

    Status: This is a known issue. This happens when a wildcard is used in the search terms. Exact match searches, and returning all results allows exporting without issue.

    Workaround: None.

2) Borrowing Turnaround Time Report

    Status: This is a known issue. When a patron re-submits a previously submitted request, the tracking table entry for the original submission is used. This causes the Turn Around time start to be a negative number.

    Workaround: None.

3) Webreports: Exporting results sometimes results in error messages: Site and Group

    Status: This is a known issue. Any WebReport gives an error when you choose a Site and a Group from the report page when generating a report.

4) Doc Del — Turnaround Report Incorrect

    Status: This is a known issue. Articles are not being counted if delivered by Odyssey.

5. Doc Del — Electronic Delivery Turnaround Report

    Added: 20080807

    Status: This is a known issue. When the Show Detailed Records check box is not selected, the resulting report does not show the Article Count box.

    If you attempt to export the report to an .xls file you will receive this message:

    An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

    Workaround: None.
