Why select this database?
The ATLAS (American Theological Library Association Serials) database is a
subset of the ATLA Religion database. It is a full text collection from key journals
in religion and theology that are indexed in the ATLA Religion database. There
are currently 95 titles in the database.
It covers the period from 1924 to the present. Searching the ATLAS database
is a quick and convenient way to retrieve records with links to the full text
stored remotely at the publisher's site, plus full text from other sources.
Important access note: The authentication method used to access remote
full text at ATLA is browser dependent at this time. The URLs to ATLA in the Z39.50
records currently work with Internet Explorer but not for other browsers such
as Netscape. ATLA is investigating a solution that will eventually provide access
to the ATLAS full text from additional browsers.

- For any FirstSearch label where multiple USE attributes are listed all the
attributes will provide the exact same search result sets.
- Any USE attribute that is not marked as a restrictor is available via the
SCAN service.
- Restrictors are specially implemented indexes and are not available for
scanning. Terms for these must be ANDed with other terms to limit the size
of the result set. See the table provided for each restrictor to determine
valid terms and their associated meaning.
