Future enhancements to WorldCat Selection service

Materials vendor partners  (Expected: 11 2008)

• OCLC is continually adding new vendor partners. We are currently in the process of adding China Educational Publications Import and Export Corporation, East View Information Services, Erasmus Boekhandle BV, Iberbook Sánchez-Cuesta, Librairie Erasmus, Puvill Libros, and Susan Bach Books. See the Selection Partners page for the latest information.

Automatically export records and deliver via FTP  (Expected: 02 2009)

• Acquisitions staff will be able to define an option to automatically export selected records instead of logging into the system to manually export them.  In addition, acquisitions staff will be able to define an option to output the file of exported records to an FTP site instead of downloading the file manually.

Future enhancements not yet scheduled

Import records from WorldCat

• Selectors will be able to enter one or multiple WorldCat control numbers to import records from WorldCat to their Inbox.  As with records from other sources, selectors will be able to take actions such as Select, Reject, Forward, or Defer on imported records.

E-mail notification records

• Selectors will be able to e-mail notification records to faculty or other staff members to request input on the selection decision.
