More compact than many paperbacks, the Sony Reader Digital Book weighs only 10 ounces¹, is 1/3" thin¹, and holds about 160 eBooks with built-in memory, or hundreds more with optional memory cards. It utilizes breakthrough E Ink® technology, making it easy to read, even in bright sunshine. The text can be magnified for sight-impaired readers, and its long battery life lasts up to 7,500 continuous page turns. Your users can now read your eBooks anywhere—in cars, on airplanes, in parks, or even on the beach—all on a high-contrast device that rivals the resolution and clarity of the printed page.

How it works

Once you have purchased a Sony Reader Mobile Collection, you can make the Sony Reader available to your library's users for on-site or off-site circulation. Using your PC, simply download a mobile collection title or titles from the NetLibrary site and transfer to the Sony Reader.  It's that easy. You can also purchase additional Sony Readers from OCLC at a preferred price.

OCLC will provide MARC records for your library so that you can determine how and where your users discover this exciting opportunity. Additionally, we will soon offer promotional materials to help you create awareness of your new Sony Reader Mobile Collections.

The collections

The standard Mobile Collection comes with one copy of each title available exclusively for use with the Sony Reader, and includes the Sony Reader PRS-505 and the required Adobe license to download content. The Mobile Collection Plus includes two copies of each title, one set of titles for use with the Sony Reader and one set for standard online use, in addition to the Sony Reader PRS-505 and the Adobe license. Prices displayed are in US dollars (USD).

Please note: Sony Reader Mobile Collections and Mobile Plus Collections are available in Canada and the United States only. NetLibrary reserves the right to update pricing and title lists at anytime. Substitutions are not allowed and these collections are not consortia eligible.
