Table of contents

For proposal narrations over five pages, a table of contents is often recommended. Once a proposal reaches ten pages, a table of contents is vital. No matter what the length, use headings and subheadings that are bold and logical throughout the document.

Even if the narration section is brief, a table of contents is helpful when multiple attachments or appendices are included. As a result, all of the attachments should be page-numbered sequentially.

Do not simply list “Appendix A” in the table of contents, but rather specify Appendix A: Timeline for Outreach Project Implementation” or Appendix B: New York Times article entitled “Angel's Unlimited Food Program Expands.”
