Issues resolved between Recorded Books and NetLibrary

DUBLIN, Ohio, USA,  29 November 2007 —Lawsuits have been dismissed and issues surrounding distribution of eAudiobooks have been resolved, according to Recorded Books and NetLibrary, the parties involved. 

Recorded Books filed a lawsuit in May alleging breach of a licensing and distribution agreement with NetLibrary, and NetLibrary filed a countersuit.  Both lawsuits have been dismissed and the dispute has been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.

NetLibrary will continue to market Recorded Books eAudiobooks at least through August 2008 and they will service contracts at least through August 2009.  Recorded Books, meanwhile, may introduce new services, with or without additional partners.

Details of the agreement will not be made public, but the result of the settlement is good news for libraries.
