Server requirements

Atlas Systems and OCLC recommend that ILLiad be run on its own server. This simplifies support and increases processing performance. For this reason, we strongly recommend against running ILLiad on the same physical Windows 2000/2003 server that is already running an Internet Information Server (IIS) to serve web applications.

Hardware

  • Intel Pentium 4/Xeon 2.0 Ghz or greater processor
  • 1 GB RAM minimum (more RAM will substantially increase system performance)
  • Hard drive size dependent on use
  • Ethernet connectivity to the Internet/intranet
  • Backup device recommended (DDS-3 tape or better)

Software

  • Windows 2000 Server including Internet Information Server 5.0 or Windows 2003 Server including Internet Information Server 6.0
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (standard edition) or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (Standard Edition)

Client requirements

Hardware—optimum (recommended for Windows 2000)

  • Intel Pentium 4 or greater processor
  • 512 MB RAM or greater
  • Ethernet connectivity to the Internet/intranet
  • Color inkjet printer highly recommended for printing labels

  • Intel Pentium III 1 GHz or greater processor
  • 256 MB RAM
  • Ethernet connectivity to the Internet/intranet
  • Color inkjet printer highly recommended for printing labels

Software

  • Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Business
  • Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003/2007
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (installed but necessarily used) for the latest SQL Server compatibility
