OCLC has recently received a number of phone calls and e-mails from borrowing libraries asking that we please remind lenders to use the correct address to send materials.
This seems to happen most often when a library "works on behalf" of other libraries, such as a state library that may work on behalf of very small libraries or correctional facilities. In these cases some lenders are relying too heavily on the borrowing symbol instead of looking at the request to see if the SHIP TO address is different.
As part of our migration to the new resource sharing system, OCLC ILL and OCLC ILLiad will be addressing this issue to allow the system to take care of this for users. But for now--please remember to check the SHIP TO field. Your partners will be grateful.
