Tender for Swiss union catalogue placed with OCLC
At the beginning of October it was announced that OCLC's offer to build a union catalogue for Swiss university libraries and the Swiss National Library had been accepted. The project, named SwissBib, is planned to run from 2008 to 2011. Six vendors responded to the original tender, but in the end the OCLC solution of CBS union catalogue software combined with OCLC TouchPoint and FAST to deliver front-end discovery was successful.
