Future enhancements to Connexion Client

Non-Latin scripts in name authority records  (Expected: 04 2008)

  • Connexion client 2.10 will support the addition of references with non-Latin characters to name authority records in the LC/NACO Authority File. As announced by the Library of Congress, the use of non-Latin scripts will be limited to those scripts that are represented in the MARC-8 repertoire (Japanese, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Persian, Hebrew, Yiddish, Cyrillic, and Greek). The actual date of when this functionality will be supported will be determined by the Library of Congress and partners; however, it will be no earlier than April 2008.  See the Library of Congress Web site for more information.

Details about these planned future enhancements will be provided closer to their availability. For details about these enhancements, log on to Connexion and search Connexion News. A link to News appears on the View menu. To list enhancements, choose the category "System Updates" on the News search screen.
