Appendix D presents the fields and subfields used for indexing by these OCLC interfaces:

OCLC Connexion^TM browser
OCLC Cataloging Micro Enhancer® (CatME)
OCLC Passport^TM software

D.1 Introduction

OCLC indexes certain headings from fields and subfields of authority records for searching and retrieval purposes. The fields and subfields indexed vary according to which OCLC cataloging interface you are using. This appendix contains separate listings for the indexed fields and subfields in OCLC Connexion and CatME/Passport.

Phrase and derived key indexes include heading tag groups from 1xx, 4xx and 5xx fields. Tags that begin with the same digit have similar functions.
