Tips

To make the most of the web version of Bibliographic Formats and Standards, Third Edition:

  • For best viewing, use at least Internet Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 7.1.
    • To check the version number of your browser, under the browser Help menu, click About [browser name].
    • Download a newer version if needed:

      • Unfortunately, style sheets will not work in Netscsape 4.0 browsers.
      • If you need to use an earlier version of Netscape, you can turn off the style sheets under the View menu, by clicking on Preferences, Advanced and unchecking the Enable style sheet option.
    • Using the newer versions of browsers will also decrease loading time.
  • To increase the font size in either Internet Explorer or Netscape, under the View menu, click Text Size.
  • For quick access, bookmark the Contents page.
  • For easy navigation, click the links
    • At the top of the screen for the contents, fixed-field elements or a specific tag group.
