Customize this press release with your library information, then submit electronically for publication in newspapers, community newsletters or events programs. All you need is Microsoft® Word to prepare the release.

How to prepare your press release

Action 1 Download the press release to your desktop. 2 Open in Microsoft Word. 3 Locate the customizable fields for your library information. Customizable fields are italicized for quick recognition. 4 Replace the italicized text with your library-specific information. 5 Add quotes from your library staff. 6 Where necessary, remove instructional text such as "(Italicized text is intended for the library to customize)." 7 You may need to do some manual adjusting to ensure look and placement. 8 When complete, perform a Save as and rename the file. Print it out for proofing purposes. It's now ready.
