Goal

Convince state and local budget decision-makers, school administrators, parents and teachers that a strong school library contributes to learning. Highlight the educational impact of school libraries and media centers:

  • Students get better grades
  • Score higher on standardized tests
  • Improve the school learning environment
  • Provide a foundation to develop a lifelong love of learning

Message

99.4% of students and faculty said that school libraries contribute to learning both in and out of school.

Target audience

Boards of Education (state and local), school administrators, parents, teachers, state and local legislators.

Media placements

Planned to be used to promote Ohio school libraries during ALA national Legislative Day on May 2, 2006, and then distributed to state legislators through individual office visits.
